Coffee vending machines work with concentrate that is diluted inside the unit. What comes out of the spout is only as good as the extract in the bag. The Swiss Espresso Extractor® delivers that concentrate at the strength the machine needs, in volumes that match the filling line.

Concentrate without boiling down
Concentration is adjustable from 3 to 12 Brix, set in the tank after homogenisation. At the upper end of the range the extract can be filled directly, with no subsequent boiling down. That saves a processing step, and the aromas that long heating costs first are kept.
Why concentrate for vending
The less water in the bag, the more cups fit in the same box. That cuts transport weight and storage space per cup sold, and it lengthens the time a machine runs between two bag changes. The dilution ratio is set by the machine; the basis for it comes from the extract.
Consistency in the bag
A vending machine dilutes at a fixed ratio. If the extract varies, every cup at the machine varies. The system controls the process through time, temperature, pressure and coffee volume, and grinds the 2.0 kg of each batch fresh. One person starts the process, which then runs autonomously under supervision, fully automated and digitally monitored.
Hot or cold extraction
Brewing temperature ranges from 20 to 92 degrees. Both classically extracted espresso and cold brew can therefore be filled as concentrate, from the same machine and with no conversion work. For machines dispensing chilled coffee drinks, the latter is the obvious route.
Typical customers
- Vending operators and vending service providers
- Workplace catering, canteens and staff restaurants
- Hotels and hospitality with high throughput
- Fillers offering bag-in-box as a trade format
- Beverage producers buying in concentrate as an ingredient
Volume and planning
Each brew yields 5 litres at 6 Brix; at a higher concentration, correspondingly less liquid from the same amount of coffee. Where one unit is not enough, several can run in parallel. Delivery takes around 6 months from order, since each machine is built rather than supplied from stock.
